Fritz Beckert — “Vor dem Tore (Sulzfeld in Franken)” (1905)
Original color lithograph published by Wandschmuck-Verlag in Leipzig, Germany. This piece was created by German artist Fritz Beckert in 1905 and depicts a quiet village scene with geese in the foreground — a classic example of early 20th-century Jugendstil design. Printed using multi-stone lithography, it retains remarkable color and clarity for being more than a century old.
This edition was part of a documented 1905 series produced in limited quantity (approximately 700 prints), and very few have survived in clean condition. A rare piece of decorative art history from the Art Nouveau period.
The dust cover was removed so the back information and publisher markings can be viewed. It currently does not have a hanging wire, but one can be added for an additional cost of around $10. A new dust cover can also be added upon request for the same cost.
26.5 inches wide, 21 inches tall
Price: $150
